Caps Chosen as DC's Favorite Team

The Washington Post Express' Best Of 2010 results were published on October 22.  D.C.-area people voted for their favorite people, places and things in nearly 100 categories. The finalists were chosen by Express readers this summer. Click here for a full list of winners.



The Washington Capitals Awards for Express' Best of 2010:

Best D.C. Team: Congratulations to the Capitals! Looks like majority owner Ted Leonsis' 2010 motto of "Building America's Hockey Capital" is working.  Nationals and Redskins took second and third place.

Best Local Athlete: Alex Ovechkin is DC's favorite local athlete. Stephen Strasburg and Ryan Zimmerman of the Nationals snagged the second and third place honors.

Best Coach: And the winner is......Capitals Head Coach Bruce Boudreau! Congrats Coach.
