SneakerBall is an annual black tie and sneakers gala that celebrates the best of sports in the Greater Washington D.C. region, Organized by the Greater Washington Sports Alliance Foundation.
SneakerBall VII is an interactive awards program. The public will vote for the winners in categories that define excellence in athletic performance, franchise leadership, community sponsorship and media coverage.

• Participated in the Miracle on Seventh Street since 2006, which is conducted by the Rock Bottom Foundation to benefit underprivileged families in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area
• Worked through the Children Law Center’s Adopt-a-Family Christmas Drive to “adopt” an underprivileged family for Christmas, leading the Washington Capitals Charities to adopt 25 Washington, D.C. area families through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program• Purchases 7 Capitals season tickets and donates them to Most Valuable Kids, who then distributes the tickets to soldiers and their families, or to boys and girls
• Joined forces with Elliot Segal of "Elliot in the Morning" radio talk-show to create the So Kids Can program, a fundraising initiative that will benefit a different youth-focused, nonprofit organization each year.

VOTE ALEXANDER OVECHKIN'S 500th: In the closing moments of the second period against the New York Rangers on February 4, 2010, Alexander Ovechkin did something Washington Capitals fans have become very accustomed to in recent years. The two-time Hart Trophy winner received an outlet pass at full speed on the left side of the ice, snuck the puck between a defender’s legs, and scored an incredible one-handed goal for the 500th point of his career. The milestone came in Ovechkin’s 373rd game, making him just the fifth player in NHL history to reach 500 points in just five seasons. The milestone achievement helped the Capitals defeat the Rangers 6 – 5.
