Give Back with the Capitals

The Washington Capitals are partnering with Greater DC Cares and Friends of Fort Dupont Ice Arena for the 2010 Servathon. Caps fans, this is your chance to get involved and give back to the community with the Washington Capitals. Join the players’ wives and girlfriends as the Caps host a Servathon service project for 100 volunteers at Fort Dupont Ice Arena on Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m.-noon. Projects will include:
• Painting locker rooms, hallways and bathrooms
• Cleaning speed mats, windows and helmets
• Cleaning and waxing boards
• Sorting and pairing hockey equipment
• Staining stairs
• Cleaning and mulching tree boxes and flower beds
• Sweeping parking lot and sidewalks
• Clearing brush from building

All volunteers will receive a Servathon T-shirt, a Caps T-shirt and lunch courtesy of the Capitals at the conclusion of the project. To register, go to http://www.servathon.org/, click on “Register Today” then click on “Register Here” then select “Join a Team” and select Washington Capitals from the drop-down menu. When filling out the registration form, enter the discount code “caps” and the $25 registration fee will be waived.
