Caps to Wear 35th Anniversary Patches on Feb. 5 (Postponed Until March 6)

35th Season Celebration Postponed
Due to the impending weather, we will move the 35th Season game festivities to the March 6 game vs. New York Rangers. The poster giveaway will take place both at tonight's game as well as March 6. The jersey auction, history display, alumni signings, and special videos will all take place at the March 6 game.

The Caps will wear special 35th anniversary patches on February 5 and auction off the jerseys after the game.  This is a one-game-only set of red jerseys.

Caps to Wear/Auction 35th Season Patch Jerseys Feb. 5MeiGrey Group Taking Pre-Auction BidsWednesday, 01.27.2010 / 3:52 PM / News The Washington Capitals will be wearing a special, one-game-only set of red jerseys containing a unique 35th season commemorative patch when they take on the Atlanta Thrashers Friday, Feb.5 at Verizon Center. Fans attending the game can leave the arena that night with their favorite Capitals player's one-of-a-kind, game-worn jersey.

The Capitals and MeiGray, the team's official game-worn jersey partner who runs the Washington Capitals-MGG Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program, will be hosting a silent auction on the Verizon Center concourse at Section 109 during the Feb. 5 game. Fans will be able to bid until the end of the game on the jerseys with the 35th commemorative season patch, and winning bidders will leave the Verizon Center that night with an authentic game-worn jersey.

It will be Game-Worn Jersey Night in Verizon Center, too, as MeiGray and the Capitals will be hosting a special exhibit at Section 119 in the concourse: 35 Seasons of Capitals' Game-Worn Jerseys. On display will be jerseys worn throughout the years by the Caps, including jerseys worn during the team's inaugural 1974-75 NHL season, jerseys worn during the 10th anniversary and 20th anniversary seasons. There will be jerseys on display that were once worn by Bob Carpenter, Mike Gartner, Dale Hunter, Rod Langway, Scott Stevens ... and much more.
