Mike Green = Star

Mike Green gets a star for the third time this season. Mike Green is also a TV Star (more about that at end of post).

Green is NHL's second star for February with 20 points (nine goals and 11 assists in 13 games). He led NHL defensemen and ranked second among all scorers. He also set an NHL record for defensemen with goals in eight consecutive games from Jan. 27 to Feb. 14, breaking the mark previously held by Mike O'Connell of the Boston Bruins (1983-84).

Thrashers' captain Ilya Kovalchuk (13 goals) was the first star and Blues goaltender Chris Mason (1.64 GAA) was the third honoree.

Mike Green was featured on NHL Network's A Day in the Life which debuted last Saturday. You can catch an encore presentation Saturday, March 7 at 5:30pm. Set the DVR. It is very entertaining, although some of the Ovi/Green antics made me a little nervous.
