Metro Advisory from November 5th-7th

Metro will be closing the Eastern end of the Orange line between the Stadium-Armory and New Carrollton Metrorail stations, and will not have service on the Blue Line between the Stadium-Armory and Benning Road Metrorail stations from November 5 through November 7. The closings are taking place in order to meet the recommendations made by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to maintain service reliability and a state of good repair.

The Minnesota Avenue, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrolton Metrorail stations will be closed starting at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5 and will continue on through closing on Sunday, November 7. There will not be any service on the Blue Line train between the Stadium-Armory and Benning Road Metrorail stations. The Benning Road Metrorail station will remain open. Normal service will resume on Monday, November 8 at 5:00 a.m.

Travel to the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards games between November 5 and 7 at Verizon Center will be affected. Customers traveling through the work zone are asked to add an extra 40 minutes into their travel plans. Free shuttle buses will be operated by Metro around the station closures.
